London Web Standards is back!

Before the pandemic arrived with its death blow to these lovely small and personal events, LWS was our monthly meet-up ~ a nice way to stay in touch with students past and present, as well as our friends from industry. Now it’s back intermittently, held at the University of Greenwich ツ
The first event coming up: 17th July 2024 @ 19:00 BST – 21:00 BST.
Check it out and do come along ~ it’ll be fab!
State of the Browser

Of course, there’s also the next State of the Browser coming up in September! This one feels almost like a family reunion to most of us and is always a brilliant day, filled with inspiring talks, brilliant speakers and a whole lot of wonderful people ツ
Tickets for the event, as well as online, are already available – so make sure to get yours now! See you there! ツ
Newsletter recommendation:

Own Your Web is a newsletter by Matthias Ott about designing, building, creating, and publishing for and on the Web.
This is a lovely newsletter, sent out every 2 weeks. Matthias focuses on various web-related news and promotes the idea of the personal website. Check out the archive to get an idea of what it’s all about ツ
Matthias recently gave an excellent talk at CSS Day 2024 in Amsterdam – well worth a look: Web Design Engineering With the New CSS | Matthias Ott
Alternative vector app for Mac: Amadine
Recently I was approached by Belight Software with a request to trial and review a new (or new to me, at least) vector app called Amadine. This is Mac and iOS only, sorry ~ but thought it’s worth sharing anyway ツ

I’ve been a little too busy for a thorough test so far but on first impression, it’s excellent with some very smart functions and an intuitive interface. I don’t think I would work on graphics on a handheld device but I have a quick go and it’s impressive how well this one actually works.
Suggestions most welcome ツ
This is it for this one ~ if you have anything to share, or any ideas or suggestions of what I could include in the next newsletter, please let me know!
Hope to see you soon ツ
All the best, Prisca
