When Will I Feel Like I Belong?
Imposter Syndrome is not just a LinkedIn buzzword
And with this I’d like to give you an open invitation to contribute to my design blog in future. Nikki’s post is such a lovely piece, the telling of her story and her journey is bound to be inspiring. It is my pleasure to feature it on my blog ツ
If you love writing (and maybe you don’t have anywhere to publish just yet) ~ I would welcome your article on any topic of your choosing. I would be happy to help you by reviewing it and giving you feedback, if you wish. If you’d like to just talk through some ideas, do let me know ツ
It is always wonderful to share stories, thoughts and ponderings ~ please get in touch if you fancy it ツ

To keep my spirits up when job hunting gets me down and I start to wonder if its worth it anymore. I like to fill my eyes and ears with some content from some like minded people who also love the web and tech in general. Real stuff, no boring click baiting here.

- The 404 Media podcast – proper old school journalism for the tech industry
State of the Browser
This month saw our unofficial ‘family’ reunion in form of the State of the Browser conference. We loved seeing all the familiar faces ~ with former students being involved in organising the event or attending, coming from far and wide: from Erith and Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Liverpool and Blackpool ツ

It was another wonderful day packed with great talks and the get-together of lovely web peeps. It was a little too much to write up here and I would highly recommend that you watch the videos once they are available! ツ
One of my highlights was Stuart Langridge‘s talk The mazy web she whirls: starting Open Web Advocacy – both for his wonderful delivery of the talk using poetry and the account of the successes to date of the Open Web Advocay.
My personal favourite slide of the day has to be from Steve Faulkner who delivered a very insightful, and one of the most entertaining, talks of the day titled: No industry for old men – check out his slides.

If you couldn’t make it – you will be able to check out the videos which will eventually get put up online by the conference team: London Web Standards.
Inclusive Design 24 videos

The conference, as ever, was excellent ~ plenty of insights and lots to learn. In case you did not get the chance to view any of the talks live, you can catch up via their YouTube channel ~ definitley worth it ツ

Some random topics but great reading (IMHO):

Newsletter recommendation: The Dice
This is via a recommendation from Ethan Marcotte on Mastodon:
@Brilliantcrank‘s “The Dice” series has quickly become one of my favorite weekly roundup reads. Six links each week, written up with care and wit. Always excited to see it land in my RSS reader.

Ok, that’s it for today. Thanks again, Nikki, for your contributions ツ I hope your piece will inspire others to write too (wink wink) ツ
The time for our next meet-up is nearly upon us ~ details will be included next time. As always, I’d love to include topics or links from you and would very much appreciate your suggestions ツ
All the best, Prisca
PS: apologies if you get this twice. There was a hickup when sending
