Summer time ツ
Originally sent: June 25th 2025
A bit of an anomaly to send you something inbetween the usual timing but there’s a few bits I forgot to include last time, mainly requests for your help-only if you have headspace and a few minutes to spare, of course. If you’re too busy, just skip this one ツ No worries ツ
And hope you won’t mind me emailing again already ツ
request for site check: our hub
With the new academic year starting soon, we’ve now put this year’s version of our programme hub online. This is for students of the MA at Greenwich and includes a schedule and a collection of links. We did our usual update and have now got 2 main pages up.
If you were a former student, and even if you were not, we (that is David and I) would very much appreciate it if you would do a quick check on this for us? We’d appreciate any error reports as well as general feedback ~ if you can spare the time ツ

For those of you who have not seen this before:
it is not a website, rather a single webpage (+ one supplementary page) which we update as needed throughout the year. The sole aim is to provide details for the teaching schedule, rooming and deadlines, links to the intranet (only accessible to current students via login) as well as current student work links (yet to be updated) and useful support via the uni website.
This is why there is no navigation and only very minimal interlinking via in-page and footer links. This hub has 2 main pages only: the main page with content needed during the academic year, and an additional page, titled ‘keep learning’ for info used during induction and additional teaching resources.
Oh, and if you have any recommendations for video tutorials for our new students, I’d much appreciate your suggestions ツ
please spread the word ツ
With the new year approaching, enrolment is still open and so if you know anyone who might be interested in doing our MA and would like to join us ~ please spread the word, we still have a few spots available. In fact, in these days of cut-backs by universities everywhere we’d love a few additions to our new cohort, you’d be doing us a favour if you could tell anyone who might be a future webbie ツ
Please feel free to share our contact info ~ anyone interested is very welcome to email us if they have any questions ツ

request for newsletter screenshots
Now, I will perfectly understand if you’re not up for helping me with this one… we’re all overloaded ~ so no worries ツ
This is about how newsletter emails render out in the different email clients…
webpeeps meetup newsletter
This very newsletter uses buttondown as platform and looks like the preview when I test and view it in AirMail. I thought this meant it looks generally fine…
But I was shocked to see that this newsletter does not look great (quite horrendous actually) in Outlook. I would appreciate it if you could send me some screenshots of how it looks when you get to see it in your email app.
terra nostra newsletter
As buttondown does not deliver as well as I’d hoped – I’m trying out a different platform for a new newsletter: the newsletter plugin. This works from within WordPress and I’m not sure whether it will deliver a better result yet. If it does, I might consider moving platforms for our webpeeps newsletter.

Still work in progress, I recently updated my art website (I’d love to know what you think of the site too) and am about to start up a personal, art-focused newsletter. This was prompted by my followers on mastodon.art and I don’t have any clear plans for it yet, other than sharing some tips on how I use Krita (by request) and showing some process videos of my art work.
I have again tested the emails this newsletter plugin outputs and it looks good (bar being set to size which is pretty normal for non-HTML emails anyway) – but I can’t be sure. So far, I’ve sent out a few already and received feedback from a few lovely Mastodon people ~ all seems good so far but I’d love to see some screenshots.
This is why I’d very much appreciate it if you could sign up, just temporarily. The subscription form is in the footer: terranostra.life
In a few days, I will send out 2 new versions of my newsletter: one created in the composer the plugin offers, and one using a WordPress post as staring point. I’d love to see some screenshots of how they would look in different email clients ~ if you could do me this favour and send me some screenshots via email ツ
I have tested subscriptions as well as unsubscriptions to make sure you can easily do whatever you choose. But just in case you have any trouble unsubscribing later on, please let me know and I can manually do this on the site so that you won’t be receiving further emails past the initial tests ツ
Thank you already if you can help ツ

##The Basics of Anchor Positioning

In this article, I will cover the basics of Anchor Positioning and how I wish I had learned it earlier.
Lastly, this lovely write up on anchors by Ahmad Saheed, via a post on Mastodon yesterday ツ
And that’s it for today – until next time ツ
