Jessica Hische
Jessica’s site is example of an absolutely beautiful website featuring a lot of brilliant, colourful and delicate work. I can spend much time simply browsing and enjoying the wonderful lettering work.
Jessica Hische is a lettering artist and author with a tendency to overshare and a penchant for procrastiworking.

Her site is a testament to how design work can spur all sorts of different outputs. In her early days, she was known for a wonderful side project called ‘Don’t fear the internet’ ~ a site helping teaching ‘BASIC HTML & CSS for NON-WEB DESIGNERS‘. Do check out her website, jessicahische.is – here’s the homepage, taken 1/4/2024:

If you are looking for inspiration for your own portfolio site to showcase your work, take a look at the URLs and the filtering of the work page: the page’s URL is nicely phrased jessicahische.is/working (screenshot taken 17/4/2024 of the top part of the page) and the intro clearly states her approach to work.

Another beautiful page which nicely showcases her design work is the logo page: www.jessicahische.is/makinglogos, screenshot taken 17/4/2024:

Passion Projects talk
I saw Jessica speak at the New Adventures Conference in 2013 where she gave a talk on ‘procrastiworking’ ~ a brilliant, fun and motivational talk which was a brilliant end to the day. She’s since been speaking and writing about this topic. If you’re stuck in a rut, or just need a little break – I can only recommend you watch this talk which will certainly inspire you ツ
